After working in plastics, wood and clay, I began sculpting in stainless steel and bronze. Metal fabrication suits my requirements for making permanent outdoor and indoor pieces. The power and attributes of metal allow me to build swiftly and give me the opportunity to open up any form.
I have been evolving a direct metal technique for building monumental sculpture by hand for fifteen years. Many large public and private works are visible in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. “Madre della Pace” was exhibited in Italy at the 2003 Florence Biennale (Gold Medal). “The D.N.A.-Tor” was recently on exhibit in Merida, Mexico, as part of MACAY Museum’s “City of Sculpture.”
Beginning in June 2010, thru December 2010, six sculptures will be in an exhibit at Grovewood Gallery in Asheville, NC which is on the grounds of the historic Grove Park Inn.
While not open for the spring 2010 Open Studio, please make an appointment to stop by if you are interested in seeing the work.
