An ardent academic painter, Regina Miele relates the beauty in her environment. With a highly disciplined ethic for realizing representational scenes, she explores the fundamental tenets of order and place. Working closely within cityscapes, she draws out beauty in the often overlooked. Alleys, rooftops, and glimpses into places of wonderful expanse and desolation, form an intricate urban tapestry. She aims her easel towards the dense city architecture - roofs, parks, and alleyways are shown in a new light. With attentive precision she captures crevasses, wonderful reflections, and random beauty of everyday structures. Her work takes notice of modern structure and the often overwhelming feeling that accompanies dense urban surroundings. She pays homage to moments of spatial solitude, where the absence of figures makes the socially sculpted environments even more readily visible. These disordered spaces are made almost sacred through Miele’s careful attention. Miele’s work is shown throughout the United States. A current resident of Washington DC, she actively exhibits along the East Coast and has served as a juror for several juried shows.
