I explore reflective themes with my work, and try to make each one as dynamic and coherent as I can. The goal is to prompt our transformation of perception, changing the seeing not the seen. I want people to respond by saying ‘I’m a lot more interested in seeing things differently’.
Joren Lindholm received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Knox College in Galesburg, IL and his Master of Fine Arts degree from The American University. He spent two years in New York City painting and drawing from the model at the New York Studio School. In addition to discovering new influences - humor and play - Joren began making small photo-collages after relocating to Washington, D.C. This prompted an increased usage of metaphoric signs in the paintings that followed.
